The Hudson Post 392 web site came online on July 24, 2006. Since that time, we have had more than 3,000 visits. It is my hope that this will be a better service to you, our American Legion members. This is your Legion, please let me know of any changes that you would like to see.

Thank You,

Eddie Tapper/Webmaster

Our Mission Statement

We, the members of Hudson Post 392, The American Legion, Inc.,  are committed to serving and contributing to our community. We are committed to raising POW/MIA Awareness in the community and we stand firm in honoring and assisting the veterans and youth that make up the community. Through our commitment to our community, we were honored to be voted as the 2008 Civic Club of the Year by the Hudson Community Development Association.

Our Post Charter

Hudson Post 392 was chartered on May 22, 1948. It is our hope to continue to be a strong and vital partner to our community just as we were more than 60 years ago when our post was chartered.

Persian Gulf War License Plate

NC General Statutes have authorized a Persian Gulf War license plate. There needs to be at least 300 requests made before the DMV will issue the plate for distribution. If you were a Desert Storm veteran or called to active duty in support, regardless of location from September 1990 through May 1991, you are eligible for this special North Carolina license plate.

If you are interested, contact Jeffrey Cooper @ (252) 789-4037 and he will send you an application.

              11JUN2009 Meeting Highlights

We have sold over $1,000 in tickets for the M1903 Springfield fundraiser that we are raffling off on Thursday, November 12, 2009. Tickets are $5 each or can be sold 5 tickets for $20. Top seller gets a $50 Cash Reward from the post! We will have a table available at the gun show in Hickory being held on June 27 and 28. Let us know if you can volunteer.

Commander Pipes presented Walter Moore with a framed certificate of appreciation for his fundraising efforts at the Hudson Butterfly Festival held on Saturday, May 2, 2009. This was the last presentation that Commander Pipes made as our commander before the changing of the guard. After serving five years as our Hudson Post 392 Commander, Danny has stepped down. He has not gone far, however, he will be serving as our Jr. Vice Commander.

We held a discussion and decided to have our Finace Officer to get three prices for material for a metal roof for our Legion Hall. Membership gave their approval and realized that we cannot wait any longer and must move forward with foof repairs. A visitor to our post, whom shall remain nameless until he gives consent to let his name be made public, kicked off the building fund with a personal donation of $50. He knows who he is and if he is reading this, Hudson Post 392 greatly appreciates his generous gift.

Post 392 Officers for 2010 were installed and sworn in at this meeting.

Legionnaire Walter Moore Prepared the Following Dinner Menu:

Fried Chicken, Green Beans, Macaroni and Cheese and Dinner Rolls. Cake for Dessert. Beverages included Iced Tea and Sodas.

Ronald McDonald House Can Tab Drive

Please, remember to bring in all of the drink can tabs that you are able to collect or save to each meeting. The American Legion, Department of North Carolina has partnered with the Ronald McDonald House in Durham, NC in the form of collecting drink can tabs. The tabs collected from a post are sold and the money is donated to the Ronald McDonald House in your post's name. The Ronald McDonald House helps provide rooms for the parents of patients at Duke University Childrens Hospital to stay in so they can be near there child during their hospital stay. There is a small nominal fee for the rooms, however, many families cannot afford this fee and the money received from the can tab sales helps to pay these fees for those that may be less fortunate.

Our Last Donation Was Made On 22 May 08!

Our Total Was:

 082 Lbs.
